Content Gap Analysis

Content gap analysis is the process of identifying topics, keywords, or questions that competitors rank for but your own site does not cover. By comparing your keyword portfolio against competitors’ rankings — using tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, or Moz — you surface opportunities to create new content that targets unmet demand. Gaps may exist at the keyword level (a specific query you’ve never targeted), the topical level (an entire subject area you’ve ignored), or the intent level (you rank for informational queries but not transactional ones). Addressing gaps systematically is a core part of building topical authority and is often the most direct way to grow organic traffic without relying on new link building.
