Image Pack

An image pack is a Google SERP feature that displays a horizontal row of images inline within the organic results, typically for queries where visual content is highly relevant — product searches, recipes, travel destinations, celebrities, and similar visually-led topics. Clicking an image in the pack opens Google Images rather than the originating page, which means image packs drive traffic to Google Image Search rather than directly to websites. To rank images in image packs, publishers should use descriptive, keyword-rich file names and alt text, implement structured data where applicable (e.g. Recipe or Product schema), ensure images are high-resolution and load quickly, and serve them from a sitemap that includes image metadata. Image packs appear less frequently on mobile since the dedicated image carousel there has a different visual treatment.
