A SERP feature is any element on a search engine results page beyond a standard blue link — including [featured snippets](/glossary/featured-snippet), [People Also Ask](/glossary/people-also-ask) boxes, knowledge panels, image carousels, local packs, shopping ads, and video results. SERP features have multiplied since 2015 and now occupy large portions of the page, often pushing organic links below the fold.
