Solid State

Solid State basically means no parts that move. This is a term used to describe electronic devices that do not contain any moving components. Examples of this are integrated circuits and the motherboard of a computer. Televisions and digital watches use only parts that are solid state are called solid state products. Flash drives are solid state and that is why they are used in MP3 players and other such devices. However hard drives are not solid state, that is down to the spinning plates within a hard drive. Products that are solid state tend to break down less as there are no moving parts.
